Australian Consumer Law (ACL) & your rights

Under the ACL (administered by the ACCC), consumers have guarantees that cannot be excluded, including that services will be provided with due care and skill, fit for any disclosed purpose and within a reasonable time. These guarantees apply in addition to any contractual terms we provide.

If you believe a consumer guarantee has been breached, you may be entitled to remedies including repair, replacement, or refund. We will cooperate to resolve such claims promptly.

Privacy & handling of personal information

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Personal information is collected to provide rental services, process payments, meet legal obligations and improve our service.

Our full Privacy Policy (including retention periods, third-party disclosures and your rights to access or correct data) is available at privacy.html.

Liability, insurance & security deposits

Rental agreements set out the limits of our liability and the insurance cover provided. Customers must comply with the terms (driver age, licence, prohibited uses). Security deposits and excess amounts may apply.

Standard insurance covers third-party liability and limited damage to the rented vehicle. Comprehensive excess applies unless reduced by purchasing additional cover or waivers where offered.

Excess amounts vary by vehicle class and location. Optional waivers reduce excess for an additional daily fee. Details are disclosed at booking and on the rental agreement.

Inspect the vehicle at pick-up and report damage. Customers are responsible for damage occurring during hire except where covered by insurance/waiver. Return conditions and fuel policy are specified in the rental agreement.

Additional legal notices

This page is an overview and does not replace your rental agreement. The rental agreement, terms and conditions and any location-specific notices govern the hire relationship. Optionrise reserves the right to amend terms where permitted by law; notice will be posted on our website or advised at booking where required.
